Netflix announced plans for a Tomb Raider animated series in 2021. Tasha Huo writes and produces, with Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss, and Jacob Robinson as executive producers. The Survivor Trilogy games, rebooting the series, released from 2013 to 2018.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s plot revolves around Lara Croft saving the world from a Maya apocalypse, embracing her Tomb Raider destiny.
The original Tomb Raider game launched in 1996, with a shift to Crystal Dynamics after the 2003 game, The Angel of Darkness. The Survivor Trilogy followed the Tomb Raider Trilogy reboot between 2006 and 2009, including a remake of the original game.
