The prequel of the legendary TV show – Game of Thrones, House of Dragons released it’s first episode. The series starts with Rhaenyra Targaryen narrating The great 101 councils to choose a successor of Jaehaerys I Targaryen, where Viserys I Targaryen is selected as his heir. The Series is set to show the crazy civil war between the Targaryens. In the SOIAF books state this event as Dance of the Dragons
The Visuals/Direction
The Visuals in the Pilot episode is outstanding; we can see that the screenwriters Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik did some exceptional work, the VFX used for the dragons was detailed, and the soundtracks were super good, as we expect from Ramin Djawadi, who composed the theme and soundtrack for Game of Thrones, overall 10/10 on directions, visuals, and soundtrack.
Personal View on the Episode
The episode was really dark, and intense. We can see how Westeros was in the early years of Targaryen rule. The young actresses playing Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) were absolutely phenomenal. The pilot episode showed us how intense the show is going to be when we further dive more deeply into the show.
The episode gave us an intro to what GRRM states in the book “The Kingmaker” Ser Criston Cole, which will be an essential character as we move further into the show. In my opinion, it was one of the best entries for a character.
So should you watch House of Dragons? Yes, Definitely go for it. Even if you haven’t watched Game of Thrones, you can watch this show as it is 170 years before Game of Thrones events. And for the Game of Thrones fans……. You’re in for a Treat
