The TV anime adaptation of “A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life (To Aru Ossan no VRMMO no Katsudouki)” has unveiled its main trailer, offering a sneak peek at both its opening track, “Magic Writer” by saji, and the closing song, “Kibou no Recipe” by Miho Okasama.
Furthermore, the anime is set to debut in Japan on October 2, effectively airing on October 3 at 1:05 AM JST.
A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life anime adapts the light novel series published by Alphapolis, with Howahowa Shiina as the author and Yamada as the illustrator. The manga adaptation, described by Alpha Manga and created by Shuuya Rikudou, centers on the world of “One More Free Life Online,” a new VRMMO. The protagonist, Taichi Tanaka, logs in as the young boy avatar “Earth.” Taichi, a 38-year-old single office worker, decides to master an unusual skill in this open-world game, leading to a series of extraordinary adventures.
Yuuichi Nakazawa, known for directing “Dead Mount Death Play Episode 4,” directs the anime, while Touko Machida, renowned for “The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World,” serves as the series screenwriter. Yuuko Watanabe and Yuuko Ooba, co-main designers of “I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss,” are responsible for crafting the main character designs. MAHO FILM is in charge of animation production.
The anime boasts an impressive cast:
- Kaito Ishikawa as Earth
- Daisuke Namikawa as Daichi Tanaka (Earth’s real-world identity)
- Reina Ueda as Fairytine
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Zwei
- Miho Okasaki as Millie
The light novel series, initiated in 2014 and currently comprising 27 volumes as of February 2023, finds its roots in the now-defunct browser game One More Free Life Online and continues its serialization on Alphapolis’ website.
