Sousou no Frieren/Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is one of the most anticipated anime of this year. The story takes a unique approach to the fantasy action-adventure genre and tells a heart-touching tale after the adventure ends and a new journey begins for our titular character, Frieren. This is one of those stories that hurts us with time and the manga is regarded as one of the best of all time. It earned the grand prize at “Manga Award 2021” and it’s currently ongoing with chapter 110 being the latest. The new trailer teases more of the story and announces when it will start, where to watch it, and the Opening and Ending songs. Stick to the end to learn everything about it.
Synopsis
After the demon king’s defeat by the hero’s party, the party disbands and they move on with their lives. Before the farewell, they reminisce about the decade-long journey and share a heart-touching moment. The hero Himmel, mage Frieren, priest Heiter, and warrior Eisen, everyone pass on except Frieren. Frieren is an elf and the passage of time is a measly concept for her. Her decade-long adventure with the party was only short so to say. Soon for her, she witnesses everyone’s farewell from the world and eventually meets their successors. She learns to learn more about life and the value of time as her journey has only begun after 100 years.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Release Date and Where to Watch
Sousou no Frieren/Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will start airing on 29th September 2023, which is this year’s Fall season. A perfect time for a melancholic feeling to unfold. And what better studio to adapt such a tale than Madhouse. The Opening and Ending theme songs are respectively “Brave” by Yoasobi and “Anytime Anywhere” by Milet, both of which are previewed in the third trailer. And they both encapsulate the incredible journey that lies ahead. The best part of this announcement is that Frieren anime will be available on Muse Asia YouTube channel and Crunchyroll. So no more painful wait to catch it first hand. The first episode will be a 2-hour special which is unheard of. Even Oshi no Ko, Demon Slayer, or any of the anime’s first episodes aren’t even close to being that long. Nonetheless, we are absolutely hyped!
