First Impressions
The episode picks up where it left off in the last cour, after a recap of recent events: the battle between the Quincy and Squad 0. The animation is amazing, with an accompanying OST that truly enhances the experience. Man, those classic OSTs bring back memories. There are some CGI used here and there for special effects, but they are subtle and definitely not an eyesore. It’s impressive every time I see how far animation has come and how stunning it looks. BLEACH‘s art style in animation is distinct enough to stand out from its contemporaries like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and others. Every single frame feels like a moving wallpaper.
The manga’s author, Tite Kubo, is heavily involved in the direction, so the storyboarding, pacing, and plot elements are as sharp as they can be. A lot of characters will take the stage this cour, especially Aizen, who’s getting quite the buildup in this episode. Characters who didn’t get much spotlight before will finally have their time to shine. The story will primarily focus on the conflict between Ichigo and Uryu, hence the title of this part: The Conflict. A lot is about to be unveiled, and I can’t wait for it. I just wish we could see more of Squad 0.
The Opening & Ending
The opening theme song is “Kotoba ni Sezu Tomo” (Even if You Don’t Say It) performed by Six Lounge, while the ending theme song is “Monochrome” by Suisoh. As usual, BLEACH‘s OP & ED hit hard and never miss. The blend of different animation techniques with a banger track makes them completely unskippable.

BLEACH continues to be amazing, and it’s no surprise that the show is finally getting the proper treatment it deserves. The original series was in shambles and seemed almost hopeless at one point, but it has regained its glory and now shines brighter than ever. This cour easily takes one of the top spots for anime of the year.
