About My Dress-Up Darling
My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. It was serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan seinen magazine from January 2018 to March 2025 and has been collected into 14 volumes by November 2024. An anime television adaptation produced by CloverWorks aired its first season from January to March 2022, and a live-action drama adaptation aired on MBS’s Dramaism block from October to December 2024. A second season of the anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2025.
The story follows Wakana Gojo, who has a passion for making hina dolls, hides this interest due to past social trauma. However, when his attractive and popular classmate Marin Kitagawa learns about his skill, she looks past his quirks and encourages him to create cosplay costumes. With Marin’s encouragement, Wakana steps out of his isolation and begins gaining confidence. Together, they craft unique and beautiful costumes that allow them to express their talents and true selves.
