Set in the Universal Century timeline, the latest feature film from the Gundam robot anime franchise, will hit the big screen in November.
“Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative)” is set in the timeline that started in the original Gundam series, making it a sequel to “Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn).”
Harutoshi Fukui, who penned the script for the “Gundam UC” series, is writing the screenplay for the movie produced by Sunrise Inc.’s No. 1 studio.
The story begins in U.C. 0097, one year after the “Laplace’s Box” incident. Sightings of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 begin circulating although the robot, called Phenex, is long thought lost.
The “Gundam NT” film is part of a new series of titles called the “UC NexT 0100 Project.” It will tell stories in the next 100 years of the Universal Century in many forms, not only in anime but also in video games, comics and novels.
Pictures from scenes of the new movie, as well as characters and robots, can be seen at the official website at (http://gundam-nt.net/).
