‘Dragon Ball Super’ movie to pick up where TV show left off

The next “Dragon Ball” movie, the 20th in the series of film adaptations, will pick up where the “Dragon Ball Super” TV series left off when it finished in March.

Original manga creator Akira Toriyama, who provided story ideas upon which the screenplay was written, and who served as character designer for the latest film, revealed the outline.

Tentatively titled after the TV show it follows, the movie will shed light on the alien Saiyan warriors and villainous Freeza after the end of the Tournament of Power, which was held to determine the continuing existence of the universe.

The manga artist also added that a new formidable enemy will be introduced.

Tatsuya Nagamine, who served as series director for the TV show and also directed “One Piece Film Z,” will helm the latest film project.

“Dragon Ball Super” will hit cinemas nationwide on Dec. 14.
